SurgeAOV Privacy Policy

1. Overview & The Service

SurgeAOV ("the App") provides automated Average Order Value (AOV) optimization, volume discount tiers, quantity breaks, in-cart upsells, and free shipping progress bars ("the Service") to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores.

This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

2. Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access specific types of information from your Shopify account via official Shopify APIs strictly necessary to perform automated volume discount rules and cart embeds:

Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information directly from merchants once you have installed the App:

• Merchant Account Information: Details about you and staff members who access the App on behalf of your store, such as your name, email address, timezone, and subscription billing information managed through the Shopify Billing API.
• App Usage & Device Information: Technical details when you interact with the App interface, such as IP address, web browser specifications, timezone settings, and essential session cookies.

Tracking Technologies Used:

• "Cookies": Essential data files placed on your device or browser that include an anonymous unique identifier for merchant session authentication via Shopify App Bridge.
• "Log files": Audit logs tracking actions occurring within the App, capturing IP addresses, browser types, referring pages, and discount campaign trigger telemetry.

3. How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the personal information we collect from you in order to provide the Service and to operate the App effectively. Specifically, we use this information to:

• Render automated quantity break discount tables, free shipping progress bars, and cart upsell widgets on your store.
• Calculate AOV lift analytics, revenue metrics, and discount conversion statistics.
• Communicate with you regarding application updates, campaign execution status, subscription billing, and customer support.
• Monitor application stability, optimize performance, and prevent unauthorized store access.

4. Sharing Your Personal Information

We share your Personal Information only with trusted third-party service providers (such as secure cloud infrastructure and database hosting providers) necessary to run and operate the App.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal or store information to third parties.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

5. Behavioural Advertising & Opt-Out

We may use merchant contact information to provide you with important product updates or communications we believe may be of interest to you.

6. European Residents Rights (GDPR)

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you subscribe to the App via Shopify), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

7. Data Retention & Mandatory Shopify Webhooks

When you install and use the App, we maintain your discount campaign settings and analytics logs for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

In compliance with Shopify Partner guidelines, we support automated webhook erasure handling:

• customers/data_request: Returns data usage summary within 48 hours.
• customers/redact: Purges customer identifiers upon request.
• shop/redact: Automatically purges all shop access tokens, sessions, and data within 48 hours of app uninstallation.

8. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
